DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

A hearty welcome to the Department of Mathematics, Lakhimpur KendriyaMahavidyalaya. The Department of Mathematics, LakhimpurKendriyaMahavidyalaya was established in the year 1992 as a part of the Arts stream of the college. The actual functioning of the department subject to the first batch was from the year 1999 onwards. The department provides the subject Mathematics as a General Course in Under Graduate Program in Arts stream under Dibrugarh University and is willing to start Major Course for interested students. Previously the department was run by a faculty member Mr. RanjanBorgohain in 1999 and later Mrs. RupaMahanta joined the department as faculty member in 2002. Due to personal reason Mr. RanjanBorgohain left the college in the year 2005. After that the department is running with one faculty member. The teacher of the department is creating awareness among the students regarding the importance of studying the subject Mathematics. In order to maintain the record of students attendance and the subject/class taken according to the college academic routine, both students’ attendance register and teachers’ diary are maintained annually and semester wise.

· To provide quality education to socially and economically backward students of nearer areas.

DEPARTMENT LIBRARY :

The Department Library of Department of Mathematics was constituted for the purpose of providing subject oriented books, periodicals and books for competitive examinations for the needy students, and for immediate availability in the department. The Department Library is trying its level best to facilitate students with possible helpful books collected by the teachers themselves. It is completely run by the Head of the Department.

INNOVATIVE PROCESSES IN TEACHING AND LEARNING :

The teacher of the department share study material in the form of pdfs and document files via Google Classroom and WhatsApp. The teacher of the department took online classes during the lockdown period in the year 2020 and 2021 with the help of Zoom App and Google Meet, and provided study materials via Google Classroom and WhatsApp.
