Privileged and honoured to welcome you all from the core of my heart to NAAC re-accredited Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalay(L.K.M.) that offers Higher Secondary and Degree Courses in all existing designs of courses in Assam. Annual(H.S.) Semester System, CBCS and Distance & Open Learning Education in Degree classes( in Arts Stream).

It has been quite a long journey that we started in the higher education space as early as 1992 and grew rapidly within this span of time. Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya is a pioneer and trailblazer in promoting higher education in the eastern part of the state. The motto behind its establishment was to groom young students, who could not get admission into other institutions due to a variety of reasons. Hence we firmly believe that “Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya is by the students of the students and for the students.

After shifting to its present location in 1996 at Charaimoria, LKM has achieved almost all institutional recognitions such as under the deficit system of  Grant-in-Aid in 1998. UGC registration under section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act,1956 in 2000 and Assam College Employees Provincialization  Act. 2005.

Information Technology (IT) revolution, Globalization and Liberalization have discovered a path of learning and imparting knowledge.

I am delighted to state that this institution has been successfully executing the choice-based credit system(CBCS) course following all the norms and designs as per Dibrugarh University since 2018.

Open and Distance Learning education always had a stigma attached to “ Teaching and Learning” Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya has a well-equipped set-up of an independent Computer Centre for e-learning on distance mode and a Distance education study Centre under D.U. ( with an independent examination centre) for the aspiring students other than the regular students.

In conformity with the Academic Calendar of  D.U., the college maintains an additional Academic Calendar where seminars and workshops on current topics, Outreached Awareness Programmes and Education Tours are given utmost priority. The college also gives extra attention to sports, culture and co-curricular activities under National Service Scheme(NSS), Swachha Bharat Mission, Eco club etc. that help in grooming the students to complete the prevailing issues.

Here I would like to appeal to all the guardians and students to get accustomed to online system for both academic and non-academic operations. The institution lays much emphasis on modern online operations.
